Sakai Versus Sotherland (4.4 Meg Quicktime Trailer)

Wildcat downed
the first Japanese plane over Guadalancal. Moments later, Japanese
pilot Saburo Sakai flying in an A6M2 Zero intercepted
him. After
a furious dogfight, Southerland becoming the first American shot down over
Guadalcanal, and Sakai's 59th aerial victory. Moments later, Sakai
was himself wounded while attacking a group of dive bombers,
flying back to his base blinded in one eye. Southerland
was rescued by Solomon Islander Bruno Nana, and returned to friendly lines,
to be evacuated on a flying boat. He too ended the war as an ace.
The wreckage of his fighter were discovered by Pacifc Ghosts.
