Wreckage
This aircraft crashed as it was making a strafing attack
on Japanese troops and supplies on Muschu Island. The crew was under training
and officially attached to the 8th Service Group which was part of the
Combat Replacement Training Centre, based at Nadzab. The aircraft still
carried the colourful nose-art, and was named Shag On, from its days with
the 386th Bombardment Squadron. Return
