Kondoh-san
751st Kokutai Pilot

Kondoh's unit was based at Kavieng, New Ireland. He stayed on Ballale for two weeks during February 1-15, 1943. He was a pilot aboard G4M1 Betty bomber. During his stay an American P-38 crashed behind his tent. Its radio was removed and send to Tokyo. They buried the dead pilot with military honors. A big Allied bombing raid happened on the night on February 15, 1943. Today he lives in retirement in Nagoya.
