Exploration
of Japanese WWII Tunnel System
During
WWII, massive tunnel systems were excavated and built by the Japanese
forces around Papua New Guinea (PNG) during their years of occupation.
In Weak Township, an equally large, but all together forgotten
tunnel systems also exist. Immediately after the war, it was sealed

Discovery
of A6M2 Zero Wreck
On
the afternoon of 26 July 2003, during a downpour in the tropical
rain forest of Papua New Guinea, Justin Taylan discovered
an A6M2 Zero wreck with human remains. After
reporting the find to the embassy, we were involved
with both the recovery of remains and identification. [July

Tinian
Pilot Photo Collection
This
series of personal photographs from Japanese soldiers were
captured by US Marines on Tinian in July 1944. Re-discovered
by Mr. Michael Ohashi, seeking indentification to return them
to relatives in Japan. [Oct 2004] |

A
series of personal photographs from Japanese soldiers were captured
by US forces, and are part of Military Museum in Sumay, Guam Island.
It is the wish of curator, Jennings Bunn to find the identity,
and return them to their relatives. [June

Iwo
Jima Wallet
Captured
on Iwo Jima, seeking family to return this relic. Includes
chop, good luck charms and cloth wallet. The hanko (seal or chop) reads 'Takahashi'. The Migawari-Omomori (sacred amulet of wood) in the bottom right is evidently from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple in Chiba near present-day Narita international airport.
